In the mid-90's as the factories were being privatised the Menghai GongXiaoShe closed down and their stocks of maocha remaining were sold freely

These are completely handmade using the same clay and glaze as our FangXia teacups to produce teaware that is as close as possible to the materials used in the antique porcelain items we know and love

In the early 2000's this ore was collected from the mine by a local who specialises in small batches of clay. Last year, we commissioned this raw ore to be hand sorted, stone ground and processed without any additives.
