Housed in its original banded leather case, which is complete, intact, and in excellent antique condition. The ambrotype is behind a mat but there is no cover glass, and the image has some mat abrasions, light nicks and surface wear, mostly visible when viewed enlarged or under magnification, and not so much when viewed normally in hand, however, the emulsion
