CV risk profile subgroups To assess the effect of baseline CV risk profiles on outcomes, two separate subgroup analyses were performed: (1) for subjects who had experienced a prior MI or stroke compared with those who had not, and (2) for those with established CVD, defined as prior stroke, ischemic heart disease (including MI), peripheral arterial disease, 50% arterial stenosis in any artery, coronary revascularization (percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass graft), or heart failure vs those with CV risk factors alone and no manifestations of CVD as defined above
