[10] [11] NICE recommends Mounjaro for adults with type 2 diabetes when: It is used according to the recommendations for GLP-1 receptor agonists in NICE guideline NG28 on type 2 diabetes in adults The person has a BMI of at least 35 kg/m (adjusted to 32.5 kg/m for people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African, or African-Caribbean family backgrounds) and specific psychological or medical problems associated with obesity, or The person has a BMI lower than 35 kg/m (adjusted as above), and insulin treatment would have significant occupational implications, or weight loss would benefit other significant obesity-related comorbidities In line with NG28, treatment should only be continued if there is a beneficial metabolic response (a reduction of at least 11 mmol/mol [1.0%] in HbA1c and weight loss of at least 3% of initial body weight after 6 months)
