Our unpublished calculations, using a structure similar to the models previously employed [2] for studying B12-dependent processes with the CASSCF electronic structure method, which involves 13 electrons and 13 orbitals in their active zone, reveal that the bio-inactive cofactors, aquacobalamin and cyanocobalamin, cannot directly participate in vitamin B12-dependent reactions
